Hey, I'm Mel and that's me with all the lovely local people exploring Bali to plan this adventure! As I do with all Travel Queen tours, I've personally designed every last detail of our itinerary after spending loads of time researching and trying everything out myself first, and working with local companies to find the best places to visit, accommodation to stay in and things to do!

DAY 1 - ARRIVE IN BALI PARADISE & EXPLORE UBUD!
You'll be met at Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport and taken to our beautifully tropical Balinese resort in the heart of the jungle; this is what you picture when you dream of Bali! Arrive early today (by 12pm at the latest) or even better, the night before, to make the most of the first day of your adventure.
Our gorgeous rooms are decorated with traditional artwork, beautiful wood carving and luxurious bathtubs that you can arrange to fill with flowers, for some serious queen-like bathing. They overlook the forest and tropical pool surrounded by lush gardens and flowers, which you'll probably want to jump straight into when you arrive!
We're off on our first little adventure through the rice fields, passing local people tending their crops, before we explore hippy Ubud's cool cafes, craft markets and art galleries, ending the evening with dinner in an authentic local Balinese restaurant, set beside a beautiful temple, as the sun sets. Welcome to Bali and the start of your adventure!

DAY 2 - EMBRACE SPIRITUAL BALI WITH YOGA, OFFERINGS & PURIFICATION!
Bali is famous for being one of the most spiritual places in the world, where people come to not only see the beauty of the place but to invest in their mental and physical wellbeing, and to learn about spiritual Balinese traditions and rituals. So today we'll be embracing a few of Bali's traditional practices, starting the day with an optional yoga class on the beautiful rooftop looking out to the surrounding jungle.
Sample your first colourful Bali breakfast bowl, and if you like, opt to try a fabulous floating breakfast in the pool! We'll then meet some lovely local Balinese women who will share with us the ancient practice of making offerings, using fresh coconut leaf and flowers, that you will see all over Bali at temples and at entrances to homes, as tributes to the Gods.
We'll then visit a sacred temple to participate in a spiritual act of great importance to Balinese people. Bathing in the holy waters of a temple's natural springs is believed to purify your soul of negativity, and when done properly, away from the masses, it is a special experience and insight into Balinese culture. You'll return to the sanctity of our jungle infinity pool feeling like a new woman!

DAY 3 - REAL BALI VILLAGES & VOLCANOES OPEN-TOP JEEP TOUR!
What a fabulous way to spend the day this is, I LOVED this trip! We'll board our private little convoy of jeeps at our hotel in Ubud and set off to explore the real Bali away from the crowds. Feel free to stand up and enjoy the views and wind in your hair through the open rooftop, as amazing scenes of sweeping rice fields, Balinese villages and local life pass by, as friendly locals wave hello!
Our stops today include the black lava rock fields, formed by ancient eruptions of the looming volcanoes in the distance, a beautiful hidden waterfall, a visit to a Balinese home where we'll try fresh tropical fruits and coconut wine from a palm tree, off-roading through jungle high in the mountains to a mystical temple, and lunch at a local restaurant with sweeping views of the volcanoes overlooking the lush green valley.
After a fun filled day we'll be dropped off at our beautiful boutique resort in the heart of the rural village of Bangli.

DAY 4 - VISIT BALI'S MOTHER TEMPLE + RAFTING OPTION!
Wake up in your traditional style rice barn overlooking serene rice fields and Mount Agung volcano in the distance, in this beautiful part of 'real' Bali, rarely visited by tourists. Chill out here for the morning, or choose the optional activity (at a small extra cost) to white water raft through the rapids of the Telaga Waja River, as it winds through stunning jungle scenes dotted with beautiful waterfalls!
In the afternoon we visit Bali's most important, largest and holiest temple of Balinese Hinduism. Over a thousand years old, Besakih Temple is known as the 'Mother Temple of Bali', perched high on the slopes of the volcano Mount Agung, it has developed over more than a thousand years into a great complex of 22 separate temples, the largest and central being Pura Penataran Agung. Our local guide will show us the way and bring this magical place to life with stories about what this sacred place means to Balinese people.
Mid afternoon we'll return to our resort for more time to chill, or explore the local village of Bangli, including the chance to see local tradespeople at work, before a relaxing evening.

DAY 5 & 6 - STUNNING COASTLINE & SNORKELLING IN NUSA PENIDA!
Time for the island hopping part of our adventure! Today we travel to Nusa Penida island and get checked into our fantastic little bungalows on the beach, where we'll stay for two nights.
The wooden bungalows and open air lounge and restaurant area of our traditional Balinese style resort features beautiful carving and decoration, and the beachfront location means soft white sand and stunning sea views are just a few steps away.
We'll visit some of the coastline's incredible sights, including famous Klingking Beach, and catch a stunning sunset in peace after the day-tripper crowds have returned to the mainland. In the morning of Day 7, we're off to some of the best snorkelling spots I've been to, from shallow, unbelievably clear waters packed with tonnes of colourful, tropical fish, to deeper waters where you'll have the chance to try your luck at spotting manta rays too!
In the afternoon we'll chill back at our resort, strolling down to rustic little beach bars (with names like Penida Colada!) for delicious local food and drinks by the sea as the sun sets.

DAY 7, 8 & 9 - ISLAND PARADISE LIVING IN GILI T!
On Day 8 we're hopping to our next island; Gili Trawangan or Gili T as it's affectionately known, the largest of the three Gili Isles that belong to neighbouring Lombok. We've had an action packed adventure so far, so this is the perfect place to spend three days and nights chilling out, island style. We're staying in a fab resort with its own section of the beach, two swimming pools and swim-up bar, right in the heart of the lively centre!
You can walk full circle around the island to explore the quieter side and hidden hammocks swinging between palm trees, or the bustling centre's local bars, restaurants, boho style shops and cafes, and plenty of massages and spas to sample.
In between all that chilling, we'll hop aboard our own private boat to explore incredible snorkelling spots off neighbouring Gili Meno, in search of turtles and mysterious underwater statues!
Spend your evenings in chilled bars on a beanbag on the beach as the sun sets, or enjoy live music and the livelier party scene.

DAY 10, 11 & 12 - ENDING IN STYLE!
We have come to the end of our adventure, but we're ending in style with two nights at one of Bali's most luxurious, five star hotels! Relax at one of the many gorgeous swimming pools or private beach and take in the incredible views of the dramatic rocky coastline as you look back on our adventure. You'll spend your last night with your new travel buddies watching our final Bali sunset and enjoying fabulous food and cocktails, listening to the sounds of crashing waves and chilled dance music at the world famous, Bali Rock Bar!
If you still have some energy left to explore a little more, opt to enjoy an incredible experience at one of Bali's 1,000 year old Uluwatu temple, famous for its impressive clifftop location with beautiful sea views of the surrounding coastline, perfect for epic sunsets, the sneaky monkeys that hang out near the temple and the unforgettable Balinese Kecak fire dance as the sun sets.
The next day you'll be taken to the airport for your flight home, and can soak up a few more hours of the resort before saying goodbye.

WHAT'S THE AGE GROUP AND REQUIRED HEALTH & FITNESS?
All Travel Queen tours are for women aged 25 to 59 only, and you need to be up for fun and adventure and have a good level of health and fitness! We have this rule so that you and all the other women on the tour know who they'll be sharing their adventure with and so we don't have too big an age gap between people, because that's one of the things our Travel Queens tell us is important to them.
It's also there because our tours are more than just holidays, they are action-packed adventures with lots of travel and activities packed into the itinerary. You don't need to be super fit or a daredevil - this is NOT a fitness freak or adrenaline junkie trip! But you do need to be able to handle with ease things like climbing into boats from the beach, lots of walking and moderate hiking for a decent distance without holding up the rest of the group, and carrying your own bag.
You must inform us of any health conditions or disabilities before making a booking so we can advise you on the suitability of joining a tour, and whether we are able to make adjustments to accommodate your requirements (which we will do where possible), or if this is not possible.
TELL ME ABOUT FLIGHTS!
You will need to arrange your flights separately as these aren't included in the tour price, and make sure you arrive in Bali at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar by 12pm on Day 1 of the tour, and depart the same airport on Day 12 of the tour.
Please make sure you check with us that your flight times will work around the tour before booking them, and do not book your flights before you have received your tour booking confirmation from us.
WHAT IF I WANT TO STOP OVER IN SINGAPORE ON THE WAY?
Women join our tours from all over the place but as we have lots of women join us from the UK, as a guide, flights from the UK to Bali usually involve a stop in Singapore. You can choose to travel straight on to Bali, or you could opt to stop over in Singapore with other women joining this tour. This isn't a part of the tour organised by us, but once you are booked onto one of our Bali Adventures, you can join our Facebook group just for that tour and arrange to meet up with other women on the tour that might be up for this too.
WILL I SHARE A ROOM?
Yes, you will share a room with other women throughout the tour, and arrangements may stay the same or change at each new accommodation. The standard of accommodation is high and rooms are very spacious, with a combination of twin or large double beds. In our experience, as we're all female, most women are more than happy with this and it means we can stay in some beautiful accommodation where there occasionally might not be the option of two beds per room. If you would like your own room it will cost a lot more, due to the quality of the accommodation we use, but please contact us so we can let you know if this is possible and what the additional cost would be.
WHAT ABOUT COVID & OTHER ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?
If you are a UK resident please visit the UK Foreign Office's website here to read the full, up to date guidance on requirements for entry into Indonesia. For residents outside of the UK please refer to your government's equivalent website for guidance. It is your responsibility to make sure you understand and comply with all requirements for entry.
ARE YOUR TOURS JUST FOR WOMEN FROM THE UK?
Absolutely not! We are a UK based company so lots of the women who join our tours are from all over the UK, but we welcome women from all over the world! In fact we are receiving more enquiries from all over the place and our last tour to Croatia had two women fly from the US and one fly from Germany to join us.
WILL I NEED A VISA?
British Citizens and over 80 different nationalities can apply for a visa on arrival at the airport in Bali at a cost of IDR 500,000, which is equivalent to around £27 or US$32, dependent on currency exchange rates. For advice for UK residents please visit the UK Foreign Office's website here to read the full guidance. For residents outside of the UK please refer to your government's equivalent website for guidance.
DO I NEED PERSONAL TRAVEL INSURANCE?
Yes, as with any holiday you must ensure that you have personal travel insurance in place to cover your booking, your personal health and other requirements in the lead up to and during the tour, including the activities outlined in the summary above, some of which may be classed as of an adventurous nature.
We strongly advise that you take out your travel insurance immediately after booking to cover your whole booking, and that it includes cover for the potential impact of COVID.
WILL I NEED ANY VACCINATIONS TO VISIT BALI OR SINGAPORE?
Please get in touch with your local doctor that you are registered with and let them know where you will be travelling to, so they can then advise you on the vaccinations you may need, as this will depend on your personal vaccination history and the length of time since you may have received vaccinations in the past.
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE TOUR PRICE, AND WHAT ISN'T?
All accommodation of a very high standard, 11 different activities and all transfers, and the comfort of being accompanied by an experienced tour leader to travel with you and take care of everything, are included in the tour price. More information is detailed in our itinerary above.
Also included in the tour price is the usual, unique standard of Travel Queen service, which includes help with advising you on your flights, and providing useful information and opportunities for you to get to know your tour leader and other members of your tour group before the tour, through a dedicated Facebook group and online meet-up event just for the women you will be travelling with.
Transfers to and from the airport at the beginning and end of the tour must take place on the first and last day of the tour for business insurance reasons, so if you intend to spend any longer in Bali please consult us to see if we can arrange your transfer to or from your accommodation and if there will be any additional charge.
Not included are your flights to Bali at the start and end of the tour, spending money, personal travel insurance, all meals (breakfast is included at most of the hotels) and drinks, and the few optional extra activities including yoga, white water rafting and the Uluwatu temple visit.
WHO WILL OUR TOUR LEADER BE?
Your tour leader will either be the owner of Travel Queen (Mel) or a local guide that Mel has met and is confident will provide the same high standards to take care of everything and make sure you have an amazing adventure!
I'VE NEVER DONE ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE!

I'M UP FOR IT! HOW DO I BOOK?
It is a £295 deposit to secure your place, and you can book here through our website using the button above. Or give us a call on 07399 303859 to pay by card over the phone, or to arrange a bank payment to the Travel Queen LTD TTA Trust Account, or we can email you a link to pay the deposit or the full balance by a Worldpay card link, whatever suits you best. The remaining balance will be due between two to three months before the tour.
Travel Queen is a fully certified tour operator and member of the Travel Trust Association, which means that your booking has 100% financial protection and that we have the necessary business practices and insurances in place to professionally operate group tours of this nature. It is standard Travel Queen policy that all bookings are non-refundable but please rest assured that if government advice should mean that we cannot run the tour, you will be given the opportunity to either transfer your balance paid to date onto an alternative future tour date or to request a refund.
